"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't and believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Love this lil Dude

Iowa State Fair

Every year we take a trip to the state fair and leave wondering why we even bothered going.  We aren't big fair-goers, but I guess living in DSM you kinda feel an obligation to go at least one of the days.  I still find my self wondering what all the hype is about.  I mean, pushing two strollers through an army of people just to catch a glimps of a cow or a pig is not really my idea of fun.  I can drive down the highway and see the same thing from the comfort of my own car.  Standing in line for ten minutes to spend $10 on a hotdog and a drink is not exactly appealing to me either.  There are just way too many strange people that seem to come out of the woodwork and it freaks me out a bit to see all of these people in one place.  That being said, Kayla had a great time!  We aren't too fond of the Midway rides but we did let her go on the Ye Old Mill with me, and she went down the Big Slide with Daddy and he aslo took her on the ferris wheel.  She absolutely loved that!  She was grinning ear to ear.  All and all we had a good time because the kids were good and had a good day.  Can't complain there.

So, next year we will visit the fair again and we will continue to walk around searching for just what it is that people seem to love so much about the fair.  And in the mean time, I know that kids will have fun so I guess that is all that matters:-)

Zoo Time with G&G

We went to the zoo with Grandpa and Grandma Smith.  Kayla got to do all kinds of fun stuff since G&G came!  She rode the camel with Grandpa, fed the birds, rode the carousel, and got her face painted.  She had a super fun day.  Rylan was all smiles as usual too!

Pink Hair, Dirty Feet, and Owies = Good Times

Our summer yard sale has kind of started turning into a tradition.  We have a yard sale every summer at my parents house (unless I'm pregnant and puking, then I don't participate.)  Everyone kinda just brings old junk over to throw on the yard sale and it kind of turns into more of a family gathering!  This summer all of Kayla's little cousins were able to make it down too and they had so much fun all playing together.  I can't count the number of band aids we went through.  Every time I turned around someone was falling off a bike or tripping over their own feet.  I guess you can't have a good time without few battle wounds to prove it right?!

Kayla's Cast

Kayla saw the ortho yesterday and they ended up putting a cast on.  They called her injury a buckle fracture.  She has to wear it for 3 weeks.  They had all colors to pick from and she chose orange, her favorite color!  She is doing really well, but I'm hoping 3 weeks go by fast.

Such a brave girl!
