Christy's Wedding

Last weekend we went back for Scott's cousin Christy's Wedding. It was so HOT that day but the wedding still turned out very nice. Kayla was super excited to go to the wedding. When we first got to the church she said, Mommy we are going to dance! And then she asked where the wedding girl was. During the ceremony she kept asking where the wedding cake was. I'm sure the people sitting next to us heard. I had to keep telling her to be quiet! When we got to the reception she was a little shy at first but it didnt' take her long to warm up. She had so much fun dancing with her cousins Avery, Ella, Toben and Jaden. I think she dances to every single song!

Potty Update

Kayla has been doing really good with going potty. Sometimes she will even say she wants to go by herself and make me wait outside and she will lock the door. The other night she was supposed to be in bed and the next thing I knew she was in the bathroom going potty and apparently thought she needed to use all of the toilet paper that was left. Her face is so funny. She's caught red handed...

Mr. Tyce

4th of July Weekend

We had a very busy weekend. On Saturday Grandma Smith and Grandma Connie came up to spend the day with us. We went to the zoo and rode the camel and fed the giraffes. Grandma Connie also brought Kayla her very own Jeep. It didn't take her long to figure out how to drive it. She will have lots of fun with it. We grilled out for dinner before they left. Thanks for coming to see us Grandmas!

On Sunday we went out to the lake with the Hubers. It was kinda rainy out but we still had fun. Luckily it cleared off later that night and we went out to Prairie Meadows (along with the rest of DSM) to watch fireworks. We didn't get there in time to watch the horse races and Kayla was very sad :(

Monday was a perfect day for boating so we went out again after we went to the parade that morning in Norwalk with Zach and Shae. Kayla got scared every time a firetruck went by and put it's sirens on. She would run behind me and hide. Forget the candy, she didn't care!

The last few pictures are from Kayla's friend Lauren's birthday party we went to last week. The kids had the place all to themselves and had lots of fun running around and eating cupcakes.

We are all worn out and getting ready for bed. Not looking forward to having to work in the AM.... a day to just relax would be nice!

The Potty Fairy

Kayla hasn't been too interested in going potty on the potty. I think she is just too busy and doesn't really care if she wears a diaper. So...I decided to come up with some idea that would be fun for her. I found this cute jewelry box and told Kayla the fairy in it was the "Potty Fairy". I told her we can only open the box if the Potty Fairy hears her go potty or poopy. The Potty Fairy brings her a "special surprise" when she goes big girl potty. I have been putting some change in there or some little toys that she has forgotten about. (Shh, dont tell her) She has already gone big girl potty 5 times tonight, and yes she has really gone each time. She puts her money from the fairy in her piggy bank which she thinks is so fun too. (I may have to start recycling money from her piggy bank..this could get expensive if she keeps going potty this much!) So far she thinks it's so fun...wish us luck!

Zoo with Grandma

Grandma Connie came up this weekend to see us. We wanted to go boating but since we weren't sure what the weather was going to do we decided to go to the zoo instead. Kayla had fun feeding the birds with her and looking at all the animals.

Cute story: When we were in the car we drove by the airport. (Kayla loves planes btw) So we were telling Grandma about when we took Daddy to the airport and Kayla got to see the "really huge planes" as she puts it. And Kayla proceeded to tell her that "Daddy went bye bye and I missed him because I really love my Daddy." It was the sweetest thing ever. It melted my heart and she wasn't even talking about Mommy!


















Kayla ran into her friends Alex and Eli at the zoo too, so they fed the goats together.
