"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't and believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Me and My Girl

Happy Half Birthday!

Yesterday Rylan turned 6 months old.  We kept telling him happy half birthday, so big Sis insisted we buy him a birthday cake.  So, we set out for Hy-Vee and got our lil buddy a cake!  I can't believe he is already half way through his first year.  He is the best baby ever and we are so blessed to have him.  We can't imagine our lives without him, he fits into our little family so well and we just love him to pieces!

Grandpa is staying with us for a few days since the kids' babysitter is off the rest of the week, so he was able to join our spur of the moment "party".  Rylan woke up from a nap long enough for some quick photos then pooped out again. I guess he figured he couldn't have any cake so no need to stay awake ;-)

Adventureland

On Saturday we went to Adventureland with the Hubers.  The last two weekends we have had outdoor plans, it seems to rain.  We already had tickets bought and Saturday was pretty much the only day we had free to go.  So we tried getting there as soon as it opened to try and squeeze in a few hours before the rain got to us.  Unfortunately it started raining as soon as we got into the park.  And it rained, and rained, and rained.  We kept checking the radar but it didn't seem like it was ever going to end, so we decided to just suck it up and go have some fun in the rain.  The kids sure thought it was fun playing in the rain and no one melted, so we must not be that sweet!  We kept noticing more and more people walking around in bright yellow ponchos, so Scott and Jerad decided to join the poncho club too.  We eventually got some bags and made the girls some ponchos of their own to help keep them dry.  Well, as dry as we could anyways.  We had a fun time even tho it rained the whole time.  By the time we left we were all soaked except for Rylan who stayed nice in dry in the stroller.  Quite the adventure and Adventureland.

Tattoo

I got my tattoo for Rylan.  After I had Kayla I got her name tattooed on my foot in Chinese letters.  The plan was, when I had another kid I would get their name tattooed on my foot too in Chinese letters.  Don't ask me why I chose that, I just like the looks of Chinese symbols.  I couldn't decide on a place I wanted to put Rylan's tattoo.  I printed his name out in Chinese letters but didn't like the looks of it on my foot next to Kayla's.  Plus I figured if I was going to get another tattoo I wanted it to look different than the one I already had.  So, since the little man has such a unique birthday I decided that is what I wanted to go with.  My new tattoo is in Roman numerals and reads the 29th of February, 2012.  Love you Rylan!

No More Cast!

Yay! KJ got her stinky cast off!  Tuesday morning Kayla had an appt with the ortho to get her cast off.  They took it off with this little saw looking thing a ma jig.  She was very brave while they did it.  It only took a few seconds and she was free at last!  They took some more x-rays and everything healed up well, so she was free to go.  Daddy took the day of and him and KJ spent the rest of the day together.  They went to Incredible Pizza for lunch and to play games.  She must have really enjoyed her Daddy/Daughter Day because she fell asleep in the car as soon as they left.

Omaha Zoo

Last Friday we stayed at Uncle Nathan and Aunt Mandy's house.  The next day we headed to the Omaha Zoo.  I love the zoo so I think I was more excited to go than Kayla.  She did have fun though and couldn't wait to ride the train.  She told me that was her favorite part, although after we got home she said she didn't like that stupid train because it was too loud.  Kayla has never really seen the BIG animals because our zoo doesn't have any of them.  We were in the gorilla exhibit and she was looking for the gorillas.  I put her up next to the window and she was in mid sentence saying" Mommy, I don't see the.......(then she spotted one right next to her!) and turns around and says MOMMY!  It was pretty funny, I don't think she was expecting them to be so big and close.  It was a raining day when we went but we still managed to have a good time!

Our Little Photographer

Kayla was taking pictures of us the other night.  She was even telling us how she wanted us to pose.  She did a pretty good job, minus the fingerprints she got on the lens.
