"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't and believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Please Comment On My Belly

Each week I get emails from babycenter.com. They have a section of what other moms due in March are saying at this point in their pregnancy too. I thought this section was pretty funny this week, so I will share:

Evidently being pregnant projects an invisible sign above one's head stating, "Please comment on my belly." It usually goes something like this:

(Here is what one mom had to say)
Person: When are you due?
Me: March 20.
Person: My sister is due with twins in March and she's WAAAAY smaller than you.
Me: Aww, thanks. That's so sweet of you.

Here is one of my own...(this was back around Thanksgiving keep in mind)
Person: Oh are you going to have a Christmas baby?
Me: Nope, March baby
Person: OH...(then silence)
Me: (thinking...jerk)

Here are some comments that other moms are getting that make me laugh:

This one girl at Walmart looked at me and said I would be really pretty if I wasn't so fat. I looked at her and said funny I don't think bitches like you could ever be pretty and walked away lol my husband was so confused at what had happened.

"Are you sure you're not having twins?"Unless there's an invisible baby in there, yeah, I'm sure I'm not having twins. And right now, because my mind is such a mess, I'd really like to thank you for bringing up the thought of "INVISIBLE BABY" because it seems totally possible in my pregnant brain.
"Are you sure that's the right due date? You look ready to pop RIGHT NOW."It's what the doctors have said. I mean, should I go running and get another opinion because you, who has only ever worked at fast food places, think I look ready to pop? The due date is March 1st, take it or leave it. I feel fat enough already, without your comments, thanks. And I'm stressed enough as it is, not feeling ready for a baby that should be here around March 1st, I don't want to think that it may come NOW.
"Are you sure??"NO I'M NOT SURE!!!!! This is my first pregnancy, does it really make sense that I'm sure about ANYTHING other than I really want a freaking rare steak right now!?

My friend asks me how much the baby weighs every single time I see her like I have a special scale for him in utero.

Yesterday the lady checking me out at the supermarket took a look at my belly and exclaimed "oh my God, I hope you're due soon" with her eyes bulging out of her head.

I love the comment "You look really pregnant"
Well, duh, at 33 weeks, I AM really pregnant!
Or the "you didn't have that baby yet?" comment. Do I still look like I swallowed a basketball? Do you see an infant nearby? Am I here at work?? Then NO I haven't had this baby yet ..

#1 vs. #2

I can tell I am bigger with baby #2 than I was with baby #1, so I thought I would compare some of my pics I have. Here is me at 32 weeks with both babies. As you can see, I am indeed larger this time around!

...and this is what I have to look forward to, only bigger.. (I had Kayla on her due date. The pic below is me 3 days before I gave birth to Kayla...)

Belly Art... By: Kayla

You've seen (or maybe not) where expecting moms have artwork done on their bellies. Some of the pictures I have seen online are really cool. I thought it would be neat to have that done, only I thought it would be much more meaningful to have it done by none other than soon to be big sister Kayla. She loves to paint so I knew she would have a blast painting my tummy. Her brother had fun too because I could feel and see my belly moving while she was painting. She was concerned afterwards when I told her I was going to shower. She didn't want me to because she said she wanted her brother to be able to keep his painting. I told her we could show him the pictures, so then she was okay with it ;-)

7 Weeks To Go!

As of today I am 7 weeks away from my due date. Pregnancy wise 7 weeks still sounds like SUCH a long time, but I know it will go by faster than I think. I haven't been as good as taking pictures this time around as I was the first time, but here are a few of my growing belly:

Kayla's 3 Year Check-Up

Yesterday Kayla had her 3 year check-up. She is now 37 1/4" tall and weighs 31.6 lbs. They start checking their blood pressure at 3 years old too. She didn't mind it at all. She actually likes going to the doctor. When she had her BP taken she said it felt funny, like a really big hug. She is so hilarious. She also caught my nasty cold that I have been battling for almost 3 weeks now. It has been awful. She has had it for about a week and just started complaining of her ear hurting too. So while we were there we had that checked out too. She does have an ear infection in one of her ears and they gave her some antibiotics for that too. The doctor said her lungs sounded clear so he wasn't concerned with her cough and cold.

So basically our last 3 nights have been as follows:

Kayla - cough...cry...cough...cry...blow nose...cough..blow nose...

Me - cough...pee...cough...pee...blow nose...OMG here comes the heartburn again...cough...pee...blow nose...I can't breath or move now(long story, basically pulled a muscle and couldn't move without the help of Scott for a day)

Scott - Thinking: OMG can a guy get any sleep around this place!?!?!

Basically none of us got any sleep this weekend. Hopefully this week will be a better one, we all could use some rest.

Happy 3rd Birthday Kayla!

Kayla turned 3 years old this past Saturday. It's so hard to beleive it's been 3 years since she became a part of our lives. She is growing up so fast and it's so amazing how much they learn in such a short amount of time. She's is turning into such a little girl and is so independent. She has been looking forward to her birthday forever. When she woke up, I told her Happy Birthday and she got the biggest smile on her face and said, Happy Birthday to Kayla! She was so excited and had a great day playing with her cousins. Thanks everyone for making her birthday the best! We love you so much Kayla Jade!

I saw a picture of a ruffle cake online and decided I was going to try to make one myself. I don't think it turned out too bad. I was covered in frosting by the time I was done though!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Daddy's birthday is 2 days before Kayla's. We took him out to dinner and Kayla thought we were going to his birthday party. She insisted we get him a cake and balloons. So we stopped at Hy-Vee to get a small cake but no balloons. She was really bummed he didn't have balloons but was excited to light some birthday candles!
