"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't and believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

The Potty Fairy

Kayla hasn't been too interested in going potty on the potty. I think she is just too busy and doesn't really care if she wears a diaper. So...I decided to come up with some idea that would be fun for her. I found this cute jewelry box and told Kayla the fairy in it was the "Potty Fairy". I told her we can only open the box if the Potty Fairy hears her go potty or poopy. The Potty Fairy brings her a "special surprise" when she goes big girl potty. I have been putting some change in there or some little toys that she has forgotten about. (Shh, dont tell her) She has already gone big girl potty 5 times tonight, and yes she has really gone each time. She puts her money from the fairy in her piggy bank which she thinks is so fun too. (I may have to start recycling money from her piggy bank..this could get expensive if she keeps going potty this much!) So far she thinks it's so fun...wish us luck!

Zoo with Grandma

Grandma Connie came up this weekend to see us. We wanted to go boating but since we weren't sure what the weather was going to do we decided to go to the zoo instead. Kayla had fun feeding the birds with her and looking at all the animals.

Cute story: When we were in the car we drove by the airport. (Kayla loves planes btw) So we were telling Grandma about when we took Daddy to the airport and Kayla got to see the "really huge planes" as she puts it. And Kayla proceeded to tell her that "Daddy went bye bye and I missed him because I really love my Daddy." It was the sweetest thing ever. It melted my heart and she wasn't even talking about Mommy!

Kayla ran into her friends Alex and Eli at the zoo too, so they fed the goats together.

Did someone find the cupcakes???

Imaginary Friend

For the last couple of days Kayla will be playing and tell me she is playing with Diego and Baby Jaguar (they are off of the show Dora). She will tell me to talk to them and tell me to ask them something. She likes to play make beleive so she will tell me to ask them to go to the baseball game or something and so I will say, "Do you want to go to the baseball game"? And she will say NO MOMMY! say, "Deigo and Baby Jaguar, do you want to go to the baseball game?" She can be a bit bossy at times but I'm sure that gets better with age right? ;-) Diego comes with us to the store and sits by us. She makes sure to tell me where he is sitting so I dont sit on him. She likes to play hide-and-seek with them too. She will say, Mommy you count and I will hide in the closet and you and Diego can come find me. (If I remember right..I dont think you are supposed to tell the other person where you are hiding?!!?) Funny girl, she cracks me up.

Father's Day Weekend

On Father's day we went boating with the Hubers. The weather turned out to be perfect and it wasn't windy at all, so it was a great day to go boating. Kayla and Ellie had so much fun swimming around in the lake. Now that we got the boat out I feel like it's officailly summer! Kayla loves being with Daddy and it was a great way to spend Father's Day.

The girls and their Daddies.

Giving baby Elin a hug bye.

On Saturday we went out to Nina's barn. Kayla played with Zach and Shae all day. They have horses and chickens. Kayla got to ride one of Nina's horses. His name is Darby and he's 34 years old. Yes 34! He doesn't move too fast so the kids get to ride him. We thought she would get scared but she loved it. She didn't want to get down and cried when we left. She is already asking again when we can go out to the barn again.

Kayla and her best friend Zach. She loves playing with Zach and she talks about him all the time. It's so cute...until she gets older, then that's another story!

"I want to get married"

So tonight Kayla was pretending to read an invitation to a wedding we are going to next month. Here is our conversation:

Mommy: "Kayla, do you know what people do at weddings?"

Kayla: "They dance and wear dresses."

Mommy: "And they get married"

Kayla: "Are we going to get married?"

Mommy: "No, mommy and daddy are already married."

Kayla: "But I really want to get married!"

Photos

We had a busy weekend as always. I worked for a few hours and took pictures on Saturday and Sunday. Scott worked on getting the boat ready for summer and then we dropped it off at the lake Sunday night. Can't wait to get out on the water. Kayla is really excited about boating this year. She kept saying she wanted to ride in the boat.

We are also trying to get back into a routine. Kayla's babysitter has been in France for the last two weeks so she stayed at Grandpa and Grandma Smith's house for the first week and Grandma was at our house last week. Kayla had a great time being spoiled but I think she was ready to see her friends. She was so excited to go back to daycare yesterday.

If you want to check out my latest pics they are on my site. They are about halfway down the page (Law Family). I will post the other ones I took when I have them done...

Kansas City

Last weekend Scott and I went to Kansas City with our friends Jerad and Jacque to celebrate my birthday. We went to the Plaza on Saturday and then to Power and Lights that night. On Sunday we stopped by the Union Station before coming home. It was really neat inside. They even had Princess Diana's wedding dress on display but you had to pay to go see it. It was pretty expensive so we didn't get to see it. It was nice to get away with some friends, and forget about how old I am now! (sigh)

Pool Time

Scott and I had Monday off from our weekend in KC, so we decided to take Kayla to the pool since it was so hot that day. We went to the aquatic center in WDM. They had everything from waterslides, lazy river, to playgrounds in the middle of the pool. The kid pools and adult pools were separate so that was nice too. Kayla loved it and feel asleep right after we left.
