"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't and believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

You know you're a mommy when...

...you get to work, sit down at your desk and have a strange feeling in your shirt. Then you remember, ah yes, as I was getting Kayla dressed this morning she put a granola bar down my shirt thinking it was hilarious. I of course forgot about it hurrying off to daycare then work. And apparently my big belly kept it from falling down my shirt. TGIF :-)

"Sledding" with Daddy

We have a little bit of snow, so Kayla was just itching to go play in it. She wanted to sled with Daddy but there wasn't quite enough snow for that. Her and Daddy played outside and she took her baby sledding instead.

Christmas Cookies

This weekend I spent some time with my friends from school, Tracy and Ashley. We took the kids over to Tracy's house to make Christmas cookies. I grew up with these girls and it's nice to still have them be good friends. It seems like just yesterday me and my 8 closest friends were running around playing at slumber parties. Now our kids are the ones running around playing together. It's neat to seem them together but makes you realize how fast time goes!

Kayla's 1st Haircut

Kayla had her first haircut this week! Her cousin Kilee trimmed her hair for the first time. Kayla wasn't sure what to think at first but she kept cracking a smile. She was excited to show Daddy and it looks so much better! Thanks Ki!

All done...and so pretty!

The Elf on the Shelf

For those of you with little kids, I highly recommend getting "The Elf on the Shelf". Or at least looking into it. It comes with a book and a little elf that you can name. We named our elf Jasper. The idea is that Santa has sent an elf to live at your house to keep an eye on you. He is making sure you are being good and reports to Santa each night on your behavior. You can talk to the elf but he was told by Santa that he is not allowed to talk to us. You are not allowed to touch the Elf either. The parents hide him somewhere in the house (where the kids can still see him) and he sits there and watches the kids. After the kids have gone to bed you move him somewhere else in the house. And when the kids wake up they try to find where the elf moved to while they were asleep. He can be anywhere! The top of the fridge, in the Christmas tree, on a shelf...you never know but he is watching and you have to find him! It's just a fun way to remind the kids Santa really does know if you are naughty or nice. And they have fun trying to find him each morning. I think it will be a fun tradition to start with our family!

(They have it at Target and Barnes and Noble if you are interested!)

Trick-or-Treat

We went to Norwalk Sunday night to Trick or Treat. Kayla had so much fun. She went with her friends Zach and Shae. She was so cute. She would creep up to the door and get her candy and them come running back to us saying, "Mommy Daddy Look!!" and then laugh. It was so cute to see her so happy. She kept up pretty good with the kids but started falling behind after about an hour. So I told her to skip a few houses to catch up to her friends. She said, "But I want candy" in her sweet little voice. She was not going to skip a house. What was I thinking?!?! For some reason she thought she got two pieces of candy from each house. They would give her one and she would just stand there and stare at them until they gave her another one. It was pretty funny, but after I realized what she was doing I told her she only got one piece from each house. About the last 20 mins of trick or treating she instead held Daddy's phone and walked around listening to and singing her favorite song, "Tonight Tonight". She acts different around her "older friends". It's funny....(at this age).

Night Eyes

We took Kayla to Night Eyes at the zoo and Grandma Smith got to come along too. Kayla is Little Red Riding Hood this year. She had lots of fun and didn't want to leave.
