"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't and believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Pumpkin Carving

Kayla carved her pumpkin for the season. She wasn't too thrilled about helping Daddy clean it out at first, but by the time we were done she had quiet the mess I must say. She was a good little helper!

It's an Elmo pumpkin, can you tell?!?!

Pumpkin Patch

This afternoon we went to Grinnell to Carroll's Pumpkin Farm. Kayla's friend Jase came too! There was sooo much stuff to do. She got to feed a goat, milk a cow, go down slides in a tree house, play in a barn full of corn, go on a hayrack ride, and much much more! Kayla and Jase had fun picking out a pumpkin too. We will for sure be going back next year!

Elmo and Friends!

My friend Gena who I grew up with brought back some toys from Ohio for Kayla. They used to be her daughter's and she was nice enough to let Kayla have them. Kayla loves all her new Sesame Street friends and her new Elmo chair! She was super excited when she saw all of them:-) Thanks Gena and Alexa for sharing!

We miss you Buster and Tubby

Two years ago today was the day Buster passed away. He was our first "baby". For four years it was Scott, me, and Buster. He had lots of favorite things like his no-sew blanket, toy ball, wrist bands, treats, and his doggy "Pinkie". He waited for us at the bottom of the stairs for us to come home everyday. He loved going outside on his leash too. (Yes I put him on a leash, didn't want him wandering off;-) He also had a kitty friend named Tubby. She was an outside stray cat that we ended up "adopting". I felt bad for her so we fed her and let her sleep in the garage in the winter. Neither of them liked any other cats but they seemed to loved each other. She would come to the back deck everyday and they would just sit and watch each other. She was very sad when Buster wasn't around anymore. Exactly one year later to the day, Tubby died too. We know they had some sort of connection. Tubby was sick for about a week before she died and it was just too ironic that she died on October 12th too. They are buried next to each other with their favorite toys. We miss them both very much but we know they are playing together once again in kitty heaven.

Kyle's Wedding

We traveled 3 1/2 hours up to Spencer this past weekend for Scott's friend Kyle's wedding. Scott was in the wedding so no getting out of this one. j/k I was worried about Kayla being in a car for that long, because she usually hates being in the car but she did really well. We went to a park close by on Saturday to kill some time. It was the biggest playground I've ever seen. She had lots of fun climbing all over and going down the big slides.

At the wedding ceremony she was getting a little impatient. She kept saying, I wanna go bye bye. Then at the reception they said a prayer before we got our food and I told her to be quiet. So what does she do? She starts making loud noises and yelling and laughing. At one point I had to put my hand over her mouth because she thought it was so funny that she was yelling. She crashed pretty early because she was so busy running all over and dancing. She had a good time but was ready to come home and see Nelly!

I told Kayla to get her shoes on so we could go to the park. Next thing I knew she had put on Daddy's socks and my flip flops!

Kayla's Pumpkin

Grandma Geist brought up a bunch of pumpkins a few weeks ago. She had enough for Kayla to take one to every kid at daycare. They carved them and painted them. Her babysitter said the kids had so much fun. Kayla was so proud to show me her pumpkin she made when she got home from daycare that day. She carried it up the stairs and kept saying, mommy a punkin!
